Ginna’s amazing shop in downtown Pittsboro, NC
Oh my poor blog, how have I neglected you! At least I have an excuse! Being away in North Carolina for a long weekend took me right away from both the physical space I write in as well as the mental one. I am back now, and as I slowly re-acclimate to my never ending To Do lists, I figured I would pop on here and share a bit.
North Carolina was wonderful. The weather was perfect, like going back in time a month, back before the full Autumnal sweep had claimed the green all around. It was unseasonably warm, but that was fine by me. And apparently I brought some of that back with me, given the fact that we have needed no fire for the last three days! My college friend Ginna, of Vespertine Cafe , and I haven’t seen each other in years! Not since I took off on a five week road trip across the country and she accompanied me from her home in central NC to the coast and then down to Savannah, Georgia. We saw Charleston together, and explored like two free women on the open road should, stopping for bagels and jewelry along the way. That was a great trip, and I was so excited to get back in the same room with such a good friend! Sure enough we were like peas in a pod all over again. She and I had much to discuss, what with her having an actual brick and mortar shop now, and me running my own businesses as well. While much had changed though, much had remained the same, and after learning from her and soaking up her wonderful spirit I have come back renewed and revived. Good things to come!
I am actually going to take that cue to get off my duff and make some things today, but I wanted to leave you with some fun shots from my trip. More of these to come as well! Cheers!
the main drag in PBO (that’s Pittsboro, as I was told by a couple of 7 year olds, duh!)
the twin prop plane that flew me my first leg…not scary at all. No, really!
the coolest old truck you’ve ever seen… why? because it’s turquoise of course!
