I realized the other day that I haven’t done a Friday Share post in, oh… forever! So, here it is. These are the online gems I’ve come across lately that are just blowing my skirt up. Enjoy!
I am totally biased here with this first one, as Pixie is my teacher and her AMAZING e-course Soulodge is bringing me happiness and expansion each and every day (I cannot recommend it enough. More to come on this topic!:)). But she’s an incredible artist too, I find her work to be deeply powerful and so inspiring. (Bonus: she’s got a BOGO sale going on this weekend, which I *may* or may not have already taken advantage of!)
Thanks to this beautiful blog I discovered this musician and have been listening to her song Melody on repeat. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
If you follow me on Instagram or twitter you might have seen the image above already. There’s a little bit of a story behind that particular flower that I plan on writing down one of these days for you. BUT in the meantime make your way over to Andrea’s amazing, insightful, and beautifully honest blog to see more Dahlia blooms. It’s as if mother nature is showing off… like she even has to try!
Before I work on my last two reverb10 posts and pop them up here I wanted to share this little gem. As I was cruising the web this quiet holiday morning I had a flash of a dream: to move to Northern California. This is not a new dream, but it’s one I have a hard time reconciling as it would pull me away from all the people I love, and that’s just not something I can fathom. Anyway, as this dream flashed in my mind these words came back to me, “live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.” Any guesses as to what song that’s from folks? Well, it happens to belong to the song I posted below. It’s one I listened to frequently my first year or so in college, but haven’t heard it in about 9 years. It felt wonderful to hear it again. I hope you like it.
On Twitter there is a phenomenon called “Follow Friday” and today I got my first one. Ya! What it means is that you tweet a person’s twitter name along with the hashtag “#ff” or “#FollowFriday” so people can see who you recommend following. It’s like a free for all shout out service every week and it kind of makes my mind go all goopy and slow; there are just so many people in the world sharing cool ideas and inspiration. Plus because the people I already follow are rad/amazing thinkers and doers in their own right their “#FF”s are also insanely awesome. I was “#ff”ed this week by @sand625, who showed me a fabulous photographer‘s work the other day! I am thinking that today I will do my own #FF list, but I will have to figure out who to put on it!
Other things I think are worth sharing:
TED.com – I know I said it before, but really these videos are fantastic ways to spend 18 minutes of your life and be more inspired and hopeful about this world!! Burtsbees.com – After hunting for personal care products free of SLS I found out Burt’s has a whole line of em. And their stuff is seriously yummy! Bead of Roses – This Newtown CT bead shop has awesome classes (I’ll be at my fourth tomorrow morning!) and their teachers are super nice. Locals should def. check them out! Plus they sell neat stuff online too! Jen Lemen – She reopened her etsy shop (where these cards came from) and I couldn’t be more excited. This lady just spreads good vibes! Susannah Conway – I plan on taking her course in January, but for now I follow her many tweets, this woman finds the neatest things online and her blog photos slay me!
Ok, I am off to do some work work now. I am still feeling a bit under the weather, but by far better than I was yesterday so here’s hoping this upward trend continues! Happy Friday everyone!
